91 LS tranny on 93 GSR in a Automatic shell.... Possible?

hey G2IC i got a 93 RS converting to manual swapping in a B17… i found a 91 LS tranny is it possible to bolt it all up together… keeping in mind i am using the auto to manual connvertion mount kit from innovative mounts…

i am at work and this tranny is a steal it fully rebuilt with new syncros and bearings. for 350 with a LSD. i will search tonight but since im at work im asking to mayb be able to get my answer today and buy it asap… comes with ACT stage 2 clutch.

Yeah, it’ll work, but I wouldn’t do it. You are really going to want a short geared transmission to pair with that b17a. Personally I’d take a b18a over a b17a if it was paired with a long geared (LS) transmission. I wouldn’t even consider a long geared trans an option if you’re using ANY naturally aspirated vtec engine. Hell, I don’t even like the long geared transmissions on non vtec motors!

Yes I agree but I am building a sir gsr tranny with lsd but it won’t b ready in time for now I just wanna drive it ya feel me

Well, then be prepared to spend more $$. The 90-91 transmission will require a different clutch than the transmission you’re working on putting together - so you’ll need two clutches when it’s all said and done.

For real 92-93 clutch won’t work on a 91. Tranny

Nope. Clutch disks are different. Been covered a bizzillion times… :search:

ya i kno searchh im workin tho this just comes to my cell i will search at home tonight thxx colin

Colin if I were to take a 91 bell housing and caseing and swap in 92-93 internals and swap out the input and output shafts can I use my 93 clutch??

You can’t swap 90-91 and 92-93 cases. The internals of 89-91 and 92+ b series transmissions are different so you can’t swap internals unless its 89-91 into 89-91 or 92+ into 92+.

yup colins right…
