Well it was my first time out at the track last night, and I was pretty disapointed, I have a b20b with an intake, and a lightened flywheel. I was thinking I should have been in at least eh high 15’s…
1st run ever! It was just a grudge racing night, so I was put up against a new pontiac GTO
Well runs did get better after that, next run I did almost a second better, and got even better from there, but here is my fastst run of the night, kinda disapointed though.
I didnt put my slicks on (I have them for autox) becasue it was raining till about an hour before it started, and i didnt want to drive home on them in the rain, so I think my 60’ times could improve. I need to take a look at the grounds on my car too, not to sound like a ricer lol, but like when my fan turns on the idle drops a lot and stuff, so electical issues could be slowing me down.
Also the compression numbers seem low on the motor, there all consistent though, I have 160-165-160-160…Is that low for a b20b?
Anyways try not to flame me, I know its slow lol, maybe i’ll stick to autox, I can actually beat people there.
Holy Shat! I think that 2.9 60’ might be the worst I have ever seen!! The 2.3 60’ isn’t that good either though… although a TON better than a 2.9. Lower those 60’s to a 2.2 or better and you will see 15’s. But yeah… you should be low 15’s to high 14’s. Something is wrong with your car.
In my 91 RS all stock except no muffler I pulled a 15.43 on a 2.23 60’ and then after new tires a 15.389 with a 2.189 60’.
Not here in Id you wont see 14s nor low 15s… With that setup anyways…

pls dont use Autox slicks or your falkens… Ull hurt you tranny more or have to much wheel hop and boom goes the tranny, i told what happend to my bros crx… On Street tires youll befine just fether out that clutch from bout 4500 or so and youll be fine…

2.0 60’ for a teggy on street tires is good damn good… I dont think you get any lower then a 1.9 with slicks with that setup and in a teggy…
If i had money i would get my tiens and some slicks and show you how its done hahaha… BTW im tryin to get my bros crx boosted by next race… Hopin for 300hp and bout 200tq or so… We will see…
Yeah were still trying to get the ls/vtec crx …or… integra going this summer too. Yeah I am kinda worried about gernading my 214k mile tranny Yeah and I dont think I would ever beat on my car as much as you do lol, but then again im paranoid. I will give ya a call somtime, you going to any more drags/autox’s this summer?
Yeah… i didn’t notice until eclypz said something. Man… your trapping in the low 80Mph range? What rpm are you sifting at… and are you sure the gas pedal is pushed fully to the floor?..lol.
A stock LS 5-speed should trap higher than that. My best trap so far with the stock 91’ RS was an 88Mph trap. and that run was a 15.4
Just keep practicing and you will see lower ET’s… but man… I would look into why you are trapping so slow.
The whole band feels good on the street, but it is kinda weird though. I say my car has non-existant dual vtec. Meaning that at 3k and 5k I feel it pull harder…So like say im in second at 2k RPM, floor it, kinda acelerates a little, till 3k, then pulls really hard up to 5k, then pulls even harder up to 6k. I wanna dyno it somday to see if those humps actaully show up lol.
I think part of the reason could be my exhast. I think I literally blew up my cat at the races, since afterwards I hear this rattling noise at low rpms, and startup, I went to look around and found that the rattle is actually stuff in my muffler canister (stock muffler). So I think its reminants of my cat, since the thing is 214k old and I know was coming up on needing replacment anyways since my HC was borderlineing on my last smog test.
But on the street it feels like it has top end, like on the freeway, I dont have to downshift out of 5th to pass, 5th actually pulls you back into the seat if you give it enough gas above 3k, but on the strip it felt like it dies when I shifted to 3rd, and feel on its face in 4th. So I dont know.
I do have a light (8 lbs) flywheel, that I put in for autox, when I got it people said to not get it if I was into drag racing cuz it hurts your launches, but at that point I didnt care cuz I wanted it for autox, maybe that is affecting my 60’
all i have done to mines is a regular clutch 9.5 flywheel, MSD 6AL, Catback, Header, n i ported out my own 94 Integra Intake Manifold… i think tahts pretty good wat i ran… i think i can do better cuz i was running on some cheap ass tires i got on on 14 inch rims… though my car is idling pretty weird… after the first race i did at the drag strip my car has been idling around 1500 to 2000 i dont kno why but ill figure it out…i also took out all my rear seats n panels on the rear i guess that helped
