So I recently purchased an srs 4-2-1 header for my 93 da that was listed as fitting 92-93 models. The only problem is the downpipe comes up about 2-2.5 inches short of fitting the catalytic converter. Is this normal of an aftermarket 4-2-1 header for a g2? If not I’ll probably reinstall the stock manifold.
Pretty common for most aftermarket to not match up perfectly they sell adjustable test pipes but I live in a place with no smog testing
If it’s marketed to your specific year then it should fit. But if it doesn’t then:
- The manufacturer is junk and made a part that doesn’t actually fit as it should.
- Something on your car is not stock and was changed previously which is now making your header not fit.
I’d try to find a more reputable brand, like DC Sports, if you want a true bolt on header. Or you can just have your setup modified to fit at a muffler shop.
I ended up having a local shop make an extended piece with a universal magnaflow cat and an adjustable test pipe.
