92-93 gs-r trans in 90 rs

so it is time to do motor mounts… and stock mounts suck… yes they have less vibration and what not, but i cant afford doing motor mounts so often…

enough b.s. now to the point… front, rear, and DS mounts no problem, however im putting a gsr transmission in a 90 rs…

What mount do i use to put a 92-93 gs-r trans in a 90 rs???

do i have to use 92-93 rs, ls, gs mount or do i have to use the gs-r trans mount…

from what i have heard the gs-r mount is completely different, because it sits different location on the chassis…

has anybody done this??? most likely i believe

someone correct me if im wrong but i think the 90-91 and the 92-93 gsr mounts are the same, just the 92-93 non gsrs differ.

tranny mount is all the same

so what mounts are different???

driverside ones

thanks guys really appreciate the input… i should be getting some innovative mounts for next weekend… :naughty:

Are you replacing the clutch while it’s out? I think there are differences in the90-91 and 92-93 transmission splines, so you may need to move to a 92-93 clutch. Just thinking you may wnat to research that in case it will save some headache when you get there.

it is different
if u use a gsr transmission u need the big spine clutch

yes clutch is different. What really is different is the disc (small spine vs. big spline), pressure plate can be reused as they are the same. Now you can use any clutch from 92-01 b-series motor, buy a kit and just get the throw out bearing for our year and your set. Best bet would be to get a new one all together!!!

It’s not so much a spline size issue, it’s actually the diameter of the shaft which the splines are on.

90-91 = small shaft
92+ = large shaft

they all have the same number of splines.

i know the clutch is different… how about the half shaft, and the passanger side axle… im guessing they are the same…

Axles and intermediate shafts are the same.

ABS vs non abs have slightly different axles (fitment is the same, but the ABS axles have an extra metal ring which the abs sensor needs in order for the system to function properly)

G3 integra axles are different (difference is in the intermediate shaft and driver side axle)
