92-93 to 90-91.

I want to convert my 92-93 rear bumper to a 90-91 on my gsr. I searched alot for this and was simply bombarded with threads doing just the opposite.

In case your wondering why I want to do this, I absolutley love the mugen half bumper availabile for the 90-91 bumpers only.

Im assuming I just need the rebar and a 90-91 cover and it’s a simple bolt on process ?

Has anybody succesfully done this before ?

Hmmm i have a gsr also i was wondering the same myself for the rear…

it’s nothing, there’s nothing different except for the bumper covers. so it shouldn’t be a problem.

i have a 92-93 DA with a 90-91 DA rear bumper on it. Simple bolt-on process.
Also, there are some replicas out there (Mugen rear-half covers) that were made specifically for the 92-93 year rear bumpers. But are kinda hard to come by.
Most that sell just say 90-93 when it’s only for 90-91. I had two of these covers before, one was for a 90-91 and the other for 92-93, but both said it fit “90-93” integras. Good Luck, and Happy Hunting.

if your just gonna buy the mugen cover anyway why not just hack the bottom of your 93 rear bumper so itll fit?

Why does their seem to be so much confusion on this subject, I have still been searching and actually found threads saying it is’nt a bolt on affair at all ?

i think its because the bottoms of the bumpers are different. the 93’s are a little more flared out at the bottom

the lights are different too. it shouldn’t be a problem. the following pics are of my car, i had both bumpers.

this is what it is now, 90-91. the bumpers is completely different. but are inter-changeable

ok. In the rare occassion that a 90-91 rear bumper does not want to bolt up properly you can always swap rear bumper supports to make it fit.

oh and btw, only rear bumpers from a DA will fit a DA. And only rear bumpers from a DB will fit a DB, you can always link up those other threads if you’d like.
Since i do have 1993 DA and the rear bumper was wrecked when i got it and I couldnt find another 93 rear bumper, so…i found a 1990 DA rear bumper and just put it on, as simple as that.

let us know what happens, you can always try it out.

I picked up a 90-91 bumper today and test fitted it, fit perfect and was a 100% direct bolt on swap.
