So Ive been browsing this site for a while, finally picked up a desktop computer, so I figured Id get into my project, and share with you all…I hope you enjoy!!
Picked up this 1992 GSR for $2k around 2 months ago, its my 3rd 92 GSR, lol…but the first one I deem worthy of fixing up, no messed up harnesses, OEM gsr tranny, solid body, decent interior, etc. It IS a project, though, and needs a good bit before I can really say its a solid daily.
Within the 1st month I had it, the coveted B17 blew a piston ring. Ehh, time to do the swap Ive been wanting to do anyway. Bought the B18c1 from a homie who flipped his hatch, RIP to that B17, and now I have a pretty potent base. I must say the B18 has a good bit more umph than the 1.7. Im daily driving it now, and its okay, but it needs axles, a new rear motor mount, new brakes, oh and a camber kit is first on my list, actually. My front tires are only lasting 3000 miles, and the inside is toast. ahhhhh good times.
So here is what is soon to come…hopefully.
- Skunk 2 Camber kit
- Innovative Steel replacement mount, 60a urethane
- Axles (haven’t really decided where Im going with these)
- Brakes (seen some good brake kits on ebay with 4 rotors, pads, SS brake lines, looks good but IDK)
— After these things are done, Id say it is 100% reliable. Then basically everything else is added how I see fit…
-----edit- I actually need to get either a skunk2 manifold, or an inline fuel filter for the gsr manifold, as I cant run an intake for now…Im kinda sketch about that, but so far so good, just staying off of dirtroads, etc.
***I will have pics up sometime today when the sun comes up!!!
