I have a 92 gsr and it jumped 1 tooth on the timing belt. I bought a new timing belt and tensioner. Set the timing adjusted the valves to the right specs. There is a loud ticking noise coming from the valve train. Can anyone tell me if I have bent valves? Car starts and idles and does not misfire. Help please
No one on the internet can tell you if you have bent valves. You’re going to have to do either a compression test or a leakdown test.
Plenty of people have reported no damage when the belt jumped 1 or 2 teeth… others have destroyed the head.
If the “loud ticking” was not there befor the belt jumped then it is either a bent valve, or valve adjustment was not done properly.
As mentioned, a compression and leak down test will tell you whats up.
I would recheck valve lash, just to elliminate it as the possible problem. 94
