situation. drove for and hour on the freeway and when i pressed on the brakes, the pedal started getting soft. the pedal went all the way down to the floor. but after it cooled down the brakes feel good agian. so is it the brake booster or mc?
will any brake booster or mc work? rs,ls, gs, gsr?
since the engine bay is very compact from 1 to 10, how hard is it to do and time frame? lets say im good with tools.
Man, I’m having problem with my brakes and it’s the completely reversed. My brakes are fine with the car was cooled, but then when I drove for a while, the brakes would be locked up. I replaced the MC, PV, brakes lines with SS brake line…nothing. Then A old friend told told me a trick.
–on the brake booster there is a vacuum hose that goes from the brake booster to the backside if the intake manifold. Where those two vacuum hoses meet is a “check-valve.” Take that check-valve out and plug the holes with bolts big enough to fill the holes. Dirve it around, but don’t go fast, and don’t go far from your house!!! The brake pedal is going to be a lot harder to press down so you have to be extreamly careful!!! Try that, and see what happens. If your proble goes away then you know you need a new booster. I hope that helps you out.
When removing the booster you have to take off the MC and remove the two brake line, obviously! Under the dash on the driver side, now it’s going to get a little tight under there and kind of hard to get to the four bolts that need to be removed, but just take your time. At the end of the booster (cockpit side) there is going to be a pin that goes through the booster with cotter pin holding it in place. Once you remove to cotter pin and the four bolts, walk back out to the engine bay and pull ou the old booster.
When installing the booster, it is going to be the reversal of the removal. And yes any of the booster that are from the 90-93 integra will fit.
i havent had time to really do anything, so my guess is master cylinder or brake booster. as of right now i cant really have down time with my car so im going to have to live with it for a few more weeks. i am breaking earlier than usual and keeping my distance when i drive anywhere. but i think imma change master cylinder first and if its the booster then ill change that later.
