So I know there have been a million of these threads made but I feel like all the tests/solutions that work for other people aren’t working for me.
I know the car starts every time the starter is jumped because when I got it they had it wired up to a push button that ran to the starter and the fuse box.
When I put all the wiring back to stock all that happens when I turn the key is a clicking sound from under the dash.
I tested the clutch switch by bypassing the two wires and still nothing.
I’ve replaced the ignition switch harness twice with no results.
I’ve checked all the grounds in the engine bay that I’m aware of (valve cover, tranny, battery to chassis) and still nothing.
What am I missing?
Can the starter be bypassed but still be broken?
Could it be the ignition relay?
I finally got the car running good, now I want it to start on its own. This thing is frustrating.

There is a relay behind the center of the dash. I tried all the fixes that are listed here too and finally I broke out the helms manual and went to tracing everything down relating to the starting circuit. Finally I found it and when I replaced the relay everything went back to working as it should. Cost of relay was about $20.
I finally found out my problem. It was actually the clutch interlock switch. I guess I missed it when I did my original testing and only tested the switch for the cruise control. Haha
The switch itself wasn’t broken, it was the rubber grommet that was the problem. I stuck a bolt with a washer on it and tightened it down with a nut and haven’t had a problem since!
