93 gs, heater-radio issue....

when its cold outside i turn my heater on and then my radio goes off. but the heater still wont work. i turn the switch to turn the heater off and the radio comes back on. has anyone else had this problem before?? its really throwing my off. never have seen this before.

Probably a grounding issue, but check the main acc. fuse, [under plastic “tab” on upper right side of under dash fuse box] make sure the fuse is good and the screws are tight.

While at the fuse box check the dash harness grounds, on lower “A” pillar, to left of fuse box.

As I side it is probably a grounding issue, when switching the radio on you are switching 12V+, when switching the blower motor on you are switching a ground to the blower motor resistor “pack”.

If you have a multimeter you can unplug the blower motor, [2pin plug] and test for 12V+ on the blue/white lead, [with ign. switch on] and a ground on the black/blue, the ground will be full continuity at full speed, [position 4] and less continuity, through resistance, on speeds 3, 2 and one.:corn:94

dammit. i hate electrical problems. stoopid car.

LOL, you have a car that is at least 16 years old, your bound to have problems. :think:94
