i am baffled by your talk? it’s not even one of those highly debated “ls vs vtec” arguments… you don’t even have an argument worth arguing.
some people swear by the LS motor in terms of building it up vs building a vtec engine, but to argue a stock b18a1 can take a stock gsr or else “that person needs to learn how to drive” is complete ignorance beyond what i can fathom.
granted, your LS is “mugen powered” so maybe it’s faster :roll:

I have to agree with psyco, burnouts are alot better (and more intimidating) than crossing the traps (finish line) before the other car.
I think there may be a reason they put in a VTEC engine in the Type R. It’s to give the other manufacturer’s a fighting chance in the racing circuit. They had to be fair and and keep the B18B locked down in its cage.

Then about an LS/VTEC being better than a B17A, and somewhere an NSX got involved in this aswell. I honestly feel i killed some brain cells after reading this thread. I would never trade my B17A for a LS/VTEC or a B18A. That would be just plain dumb. I’m pretty sure that with a properly build B17A you can invest as much money as you would in a LS/VTEC and get some pretty close numbers.:bs:

Hey Colin i asked my friends brother about the ECU jumper cables and he said that they do and are supposed to look for that. He explained how those are for of road use only and if they find that you automaticaly fail. I don’t remember if you are using this but if you are hope you pass man.

**** **** **** ****!!! that ruins everything. well, hopefully they don’t look. if they do i guess i can always cut the jumper harness and just hard wire it. and are you sure he knows exactly what type of jumper i’m using? because i know an obd2 to obd1 jumper would be illegal because you can’t go back like that. But my jumper just allows me to run all the obd1 diagnostics. Seems sorta odd to me that they would care about a jumper…i mean i’ll be running all the diagnostics and electronics, why would they care how it was running them?

-stock rebuilt b17a in a 91 teg
-92-93 gsr p61 ecu (hooked to my stock main harness via a jumper harness–i will have to run some extra wires for vtec solenoid, O2 sensor, knock sensor…)
-92-93 gsr distributor
-92-93 gsr injectors
-all obd1 sensors and emissions will be on the car
-service check connector will be functional
