“Best” is a very relative term. And without knowing what your priorities are it’s hard to make a suggestion. So, what’s important to you?
- maximum grip?
- best gas mileage
- best looking (and then “best” is still subjective)
- do you want to err on the side of being larger or smaller than stock?
Depending on what model tires are available in various sizes also plays a huge role.
205/45/16 and 215/45/16 are going to be the closest sizes to your original tire. Personally I never like to go with a tire that is smaller (diameter) than the original tires. Reason being that our cars are already low to the ground so going with a smaller tire just decreases ground clearance (and increases the gap between your fender and tire). Both of those tire sizes are VERY close to the original tire size so you’ll be good with either one.
i just want a nice looking tire, decreasing the wheel gap, but still maintaining clearance.
Then pic between the 205/45 and the 215/45 depending on what is available in the brand/model of tire you want.

205/45 is the closest to factory outside diameter. Check out willtheyfit.com to get a better idea of your options.
I’ve always ran 205/50 on 15’s or 16’s. I just purchased some 215/50/15 achilles so lets see how that goes. Good luck.
