Ah yes, the pic. I’ll get to it.
Funny, I’m sitting on a new set of 225/45 Rivals that no one seems to be interested in.

Colin, its a common problem this time of year. They sell out and wait until the new models or current batches to arrive. I raced on 205 Rivals the past 2 years and I absolutely love them. I even went to a 225 Rival on a 7.5" wheel (STC max limit) and didnt get much difference because of the narrow wheel. I think the Rival runs a bit narrow in the 225 size and the 205 seems to run a bit wider than its 205 counterparts.
I might want to try a RS3 v2 this year depending on how the compare to the others once the revised versions are on the market. Im hoping BFG revises the compound for the Rival to do better in the heat. Those tires are fantastic on the first run or 2, but after they get heat in them they are impossible… still a great tire but theres potential to be the best if they take on some grip qualities of the RS3 in the heat.
I’m thinking wheel width plays a big role in tire temperature.
My peak temps were usually around 180, never really had an issue with heat.
Pic of the 15x9 et36 with a wilwood disc hat and a 15mm spacer. Looked like a clear shot on a tiny screen…my bad.
So it looks like it fits to me. But is that with the 10mm spacer?
Also any shots of the car with the wheels on?
I might just bite the bullet and go for the extended lugs to use spacers and do the whole wheel bearing replacement. Blah
With a 15mm spacer. i wanna say aprx 8mm clearance…
^^^ beautiful ride sir!!
Bought my wheels finally. I ended up ordering (2) 15x9 +35 for the front and (2) 15x8 +25 rear. 9’s weigh 12.8 lbs and the 8’s weigh 12lbs. Slightly heavier than 949’s and cost $200 less.
$486 shipped. Extended ARP stud’s on the way along with 5mm spacers for the front. Also ordered a set of the revised 225/45/15 Rival S. Will use my current 205/50 Rivals on the rear.
Can’t wait to get working on it! Will post back with pics.
So the minimal static clearance between the rear trailing arm and 15x10 et 15 isn’t enough. Something back there is flexible enough for the wheel to make slight contact with the rta near the camber arm. I’ve removed 3-4mm which should cure it. Everything seems fine upfront.
Nice choice Boostpyro! How’s the clearance? Have you driven the car on the new setup yet?
^Thanks man! For anyone following this thread, I thought it would be fun/benefitial to start a new thread with my results. Here is the link. http://forums.g2ic.com/showthread.php?219129-Meaty-Wheel-Tire-Fitment!!&p=2327690#post2327690
Great thread for those looking for meaty track fitments! I’ve been getting by with skinny 205/50/15 on 15x8 ET+25 Konig Flatout, but i’m interesting in stepping up to 225/45/15 on 15x9. Not sure if i’ll run a staggered fitment or not (225F, 205R). Subscribed, and will share info if my setup changes.
