My friend is giving me his 96 integra gsr engine with turbo, i want to drop it in my 91 integra rs. Is it a good idea?
He’s “giving” it to you? A boosted B18c sounds like a good idea to me. I’m pretty sure you will be able to fit the turbo in your bay along with the new engine. Good luck.
yea i can’t wait! I got the engine and i wanted to get it replaced quick. The engine has 20k mileage on it! Now the thing is the cost of putting it in. Because i think i have to buy a different mainfold (skunk2) and a new transmission? My stock engine is not stable so i decided to go with this swap. Will the car feel totally different when i drive ?
OMG! If he is giving it to you then you better just put the damn thing in. The price of installation will be nothing compared to buying a diffirent engine and putting a turbo on it. I am pretty sure you will need a diffirent ECU and a cable tranny.
the thing is i don’t know jack about engines and stuff. But im trying to learn, i know so far that a i need a new skunk2 mainfold and i need something to convert the cable transmission into hydraulic transmission. how much u guys think it would cost me for the swap and how much i could sell my stock engine with 150k on it?

I wouldnt even worry about what install is going to cost you, because you suck and got a wrad deal.

list leet certs here.
you’re also going to need custom piping in order for the turbo to work in our cars. the piping made for a g3 integra won’t work in a g2. good luck.

So since someone was SOOOO benevolent to you in giving you such a sweet motor, will you by any chance be giving away your old motor? I think it would be a nice gesture.
