97 gsr : fuel cutting off

i recently droped in a b18c into a 92 si for a customer.

car was running fine, untill just recently it wont take gas and start to shake.

if i’m in nutral and giving it gas it goes all the way up to 3000 then it cuts off then back to 0 and back up to 3000. and when driving the car just start to shake like i’m being hit from behind.

can someone please help me.

people said it could be the distributor , so i changed it then i was told it could be some relay inside the car so i changed it … same thing…

Your help is greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem before, and it was the distributor. No problem since… I don’t know what it could be if you already changed that.

Same thing happened to me, and it was also the distributor. The ecu automatically lowers the rev limit to protect the engine from possible damage, if this is happening it has to be throwing a code, check the code out so you can diagnose the problem… If it’s a b18c ecu, then the codes will be different from his si, in other words you have to use the codes from the corresponding ecu.

When it happened to me it was throwing a code for “Crank Angle Sensor”.

no codes .

This is getting very frustrating.

Do you have a spare ecu?? You may want to give it to him and cut your losses, since you did the job… That shouldn’t be happening without it throwing a code of some sort, is the CEL still functioning?

OMG I HAVE THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM!

i have a 1990 integra with a 99 odb 2 gsr swap…the car WILL NOT REV OVER 3000

and its giving me code 4 (crank sensor) too!

i’ve checked all the wires for loose or bad connections…everything is fine

all the sensors were replaced n tested…

swapped diff distributor…

nothing seem to work

my car has been in my garage for 2 months! :frowning: im getting pissed off

SOMEBODY HELP!!!

Did you check the wiring? What I mean is did you trace the signal from crank sensor and make sure that it’s goin to the right pin out for the ECU? Which wire harness do you use? It sounds like the OBD problem(when converting one type of OBD into another)

as for my car

yes i’ve tried to trace the signals…i even ran seperated wires directly from the ecu to the distributor…still the same code/problem n wouldn’t rev over 3k…:bawl:

im currently using my old odb 0 harness mod to fit the odb sensors…and yes i’ve checked all the wires…over n over…:bang:
