A/C and heat stopped working?

A few days ago my a/c would not come on until I had driven the car a little bit… now it will usually not come on at all. The a/c itself works but no air blows out of the vents no matter where I turn the dial… sometimes it will come on, but no matter where I set the dial it will be at a a slow speed… and now it makes a sort of whining noise.

I had this problem on my other teg & I had the blower motor replaced… it worked right for a while but then the it started acting up & making weird noises again, so I don’t know if the blower motor is the problem here, or not… anyone else have this problem?

The cheapest solution is to check the dial. These tend to fail alot on Hondas. Take your fan setting dial and pull it straight off. Check to make sure the D shaped fitting on the plastic dial isnt broke.

The Helms Manual covers that section really well if you need a copy I have it in PDF form.

I could use a copy of the AC section as well…I’m pretty sure it’s my clutch that went out on mine :frowning:

check the resistor coil. It is on the blower motor box behind the glove box. It is a white piece of plastic held to the black blower box with 2 phillips head screws. There is a harness plugged into it with a bunch of blue wires. It is the piece that regulates the amount of voltage that the fan motor receives, thus regulating the speed of the motor. Inspect the coil and make sure that there are not any breaks in it. If there are breaks in the coil the voltage will not flow to the blower motor. Replacing the coil will also fix the problem of one or more of the blower speeds not working.
