I bought a 93 DB2 with a “poor man’s type r” (B18C1 block/PR3 head with all new OEM ITR internals). The A/C was not included in the build. I live in the southeast with crazy humidity and heat so A/C is a necessity. The question I have is do I need a P72 A/C bracket and the according A/C belt for a B18C1 or can I use the PR3 from my old DB2 and use the B17 A/C belt? I’ve done my due diligence and search the internet with no success for an answer. I get conflicting information about interchangeable A/C brackets. There is a ton of answers for anyone who has a civic or del sol with this kind of swap but not for anyone who has a DA9/DB2. Any help is appreciated.
I have a 92 DA with a B18C1 and the head that came with it (would need to check what the code on that was), I just used an AC bracket and idler pulley off of a B18B engine, fits fine. I haven’t tried running the belt yet, but summer’s here so will be soon.
As far as I know, the chassis and head shouldn’t affect the way the AC fits on the block.
