A few questions.. please help :)

I have a '90 GS. I’m hoping you guys can help me out with some of my questions. :shy:

  1. If you remove the side moldings, will there be an indention in the car from where the moldings sat (meaning: are they recessed) … OR … just holes to fill?

  2. My car grinds in 5th gear everytime and sometimes in 3rd. Any idea why?

  3. What dual exhausts are available that will fit into this bumper?

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

  1. yes there will be an indentation about 2-3 inches high and half an inch deep with holes

  2. your synchros are jacked up

  1. I belive I saw somewhere where someone took a Z28 rear section and made it fit that rear kit.

  1. Hmmmm. I did find just a dual rear section for sale somewhere, but I want full cat-back piping and a high flow cat. I guess I could take it to a shop and have them make it. I don’t like dual exhaust at all (on a 4 cyl) but if the bumper I’m getting has dual cut-outs for exhaust, that would look retarded with only one pipe shootin’ out of there.

Thanks for the help.

Anyone else have ideas??

I would also suggest the synchros (too lazy to figure out how to spell it correctly), however things like missing teeth can also occur. does the car grind during gear selection and/or while the car is in gear and moving?

This is a trick question because you don’t actually want that bumper or the dual exhausts.

bring it to a shop and have them custom build one. they can split the stock pipe (if u want to keep the stock exhaust) to make a Y. or they can bend up a system out of 2.5" pipe.

GSpeedR: It happens during gear selection. It grinds every single time going into 5th and I can actually make it not grind in 3rd (I just put it in 3rd a little to the left rather than straight in). Also… are you subliminally saying that I shouldn’t buy that bumper or dual exhaust? hehe

Turbo: That’s probably what I’ll end up doing.

Thanks guys!

:gay: ← I can’t believe there’s a gay icon. That’s just too much. lol

I think that is definitely a problem with your synchros. It will only get worse with time.

A good trick to lessen the annoyance of the grinding and the wear on your tranny is to start double clutching and rev matching every shift. Double clutching involves rev matching downshifts. Go to the Teg Tips section for a decent review.

Kind of a pseudo Freudian half Jedi attempt at that. I don’t like it, but if you do then go to a muffler shop and explain exactly what you want.

You can just paint the moldings any color you want. That is what I did with my car, Sky Grey, w/ Blue Perl Overcoat, looks Sick

dual exhaust on integras is :gay:

 @ bryan

I completely agree, but… which is MORE :gay: ?? Dual exhaust on a Integra … or … having dual exhaust cut-outs on a bumper with single exhaust?

I guess I need to figure out exactly which one will make me look less :gay:. Either that or find another kit, which I am currently doing.

Jenny

you can just get a regular exhaust and put a dummy muffler on the other side (so you dont lose performance with a twin muffler setup). Or you can get the rear bumper, and fill the second hole.

More Gay, IMO, Dual Cut-Outs, w/ single exhaust.

The dummy exhaust wasn’t a bad idea, tho, if you go w/ that bumper.

Yea my gears grind alot too. Going to 5th it grinds alot. While Gear selection? How would i fix this problem? Sometimes it doesnt, I can feel when it is going to grind, so i double clutch and it helps but takes a while.
