A rattling noise...

Alright, so im trying to figure out what it is but i cant find it. This is what it does: As I come in to park my car somewhere, i put on my brake and when i come to a final stop, and hold the break down, there is a rattling, shaking noise that sounds like it is coming from the passengers side in the glove box. Glove box has nothing in it thats shaking. What could it be? It also rattles at stop lights and when i’m facing down a hill and breaking.

you should check all the little wires and connectors under the dash part in front of your passenger side. you might want to check the kick panel also.

Anything else? I have looked there and there is nothing rattling. Arghh its driving me insane!

i think it’s just something under your car… lots of integras make a slight rattle at idle or especially in 1st when crusing to a stop. it might be your shifter rattling against the gear box…

Nope…its for sure near the glove box somewhere. I hope i find it. Its still driving me nuts.

One day i was trying to figure out what a noise was coming from around that area, when in fact it was my intake rattling againt my fender. Just a thought…

hey! i think i just solved my mystery rattle at low rpm’s from teh right side of my teg just now…

I was changing my corner bulbs, and i noticed something. I have a short intake and under the filter there’s the bottom half of the intake box… i’m sure you know what i’m talkin’ about… and one of the big bolts (and washer) that holds it in place was just chillin’ in the little reservoir (with the mesh) at the bottom of the box… so i fished it out with some pliers… i also noticed that the other bolt is comming loose… i’m gonna probably get down there and tighten it soon…

but check down there and see if one of those bolts is missing… if so, see if you can find it laying in around in your engine bay somewhere…
