cool find niel
Cool article. I wonder if Dan has seen this:)
I noticed they measure power in “ps”. Is this the same as Horse Power? I didn’t see them say anything about torque though. That would be really interesting to see (especially for Dan to see)
Leif
Romanz found it and sent me the link. It’s over a year old though.

hey lief i believe 1 ps is equal to .98 hp so almost 1:1
Q: What does ‘PS’ mean?
A: PS is a measurement of horsepower on a European and Japanese platform.
PS is actually a French (metric) horse power, defined as 1 PS = 735.5 W (watt). On the other hand, British horse power (HP) is about 746 W. (1PS = 0.9859HP). Original definition was: 1PS = 75 kgwm/s, 1HP = 550 lbwft/s.
When comparing PS to HP, PS is usually rated a little higher than HP – about 3-5hp more. So, for example, a JDM hydro B16A engine is rated at 170ps, when converted to HP, it’s around 165-168hp; and that’s usually the estimated power to the wheels too.

Doesn’t anyone know what PS itself stands for? I’ve taken French for years and I can’t figure it out. (Didn’t know it was a French term til now either)

Cool, thanks bro. So the car is putting down about 209 whp. Not bad! I’m still curious what the torque numbers are.
Leif
PS does not stand for a French word, it stands for the German word Pferdestaerke. AKA metric horsepower.
sexy:whip: i love RHD…just couldnt imagine trying to pass on the left with one :naughty:
The nett result of all this work was extremely impressive. The final power output of the B16A/B20 engine was dyno’ed at a huge 212ps at the wheels
 that is some damn good tuning to extract that much power out of that motor
good article Neil thanks for makin yourself usefull
Looks like a girl owns that car.
