Im getting a used tranny and a new clutch put in my car and the only one he has is an A1 in stock… i tried to do a search but A1 isnt 3 characters long so i couldnt… I see alot of comments about the YS1 and the S1… but what do you guys think about the A1???
I’ve never ever heard of an A1. The only cable trannies I’ve ever heard of are the S1, YS1, Y1 and J1. I don’t think there is an A1. But maybe you heard J1.
I saw the tranny and it does say A1… i dont know… i read somewhere thats its off of a jdm b16 but im not sure…
I had an A1 tranny before my engine swap. Anyway… back tot he subject. THe best tranny you could buy would be the ys1 w/ lsd. Depending on the year of your car, this may or may not bolt right up. S1 and Y1 trannys are also really good, but if you don’t mind spending the extra money, and can find one, I ould go w/ the ys1. JMO
But is this tranny jdm or what??? Should i be worried?
no, its not jdm, it comes only on 90-91 i think.hth
yeah, I have it on my mango
91 RS
and btw, :search:
The best tranny would be a 92-93 YS1 GS-R tranny w/ a quaife diff or R-spec. diff in it. A type-R diff will fit in a 92-93 GS-R only. You will however need the diff bearings, bolts and the ring gear as will from the type-R. The 92-93 GS-R was geared the most aggressive trannys of all in exception to the JDM and AUDM 98-01 type-R integra. Those trannys have a final drive of a 4.785:1
