ABS delete - confused about fittings

A lot of the previous threads about ABS delete mention that there is one port on the ABS master cylinder that will be an M12. It’s finally come round to be done now but the issue I’m runnin into is… All of the fittings in my car (92 DA hatch w/ABS) look like they are M10s, I physically checked them. All of the lines from the donor car are M10s as well.
I searched the MC listings on the Autozone website for 91s and 92s with and without ABS and they all list both ports on the replacements as being M10s.

I’ve held off on starting this project because I don’t want to run into an M12 and not have a solution for it.

Where in the sam hill is this M12 port and/or fitting that needs an adapter???

I just bought the kit from a member here. Included the brake hard line on the firewall and he did have to change a flare nut from the brake reservoir. Think it was the driver side nut.

To the drivers side caliper?? I actually didn’t check those specifically.

i did mine a while back ill see if i can dig up some pics. i found a non abs teg at a junk yard and used all the lines, the one fitting on the master cylinder is m12 on the abs stuff, and m10 on the non abs, just cut off the m12 and replace the m10 with it. cut and flare

That was my plan actually, but I checked it all and they seem to be M10s on my car.

lol I apologize if that didn’t make sense, I might be a bit drunkishlike…

lol right on i love those nights in the garage… gotchya well in that case it should be a plug and play type deal. deal is, abs brake boosters have one m12 port everything else is m10, non abs brake boosters are all m10s, so just swap everything and bolt it up:rockon:

All of mine on my oem ABS are M10s.

okay so all the non abs lines should thread right into your factory master cylinder without modification

While I’m thinking about it, what in the world is that thing that a couple of the ABS lines goes into that’s underneath the battery tray??
And can I just remove the thing since I’m failry certain it isn’t attached to anything now.

When i changed from non-ABS master cylinder to ABS, one of the fittings changed from M10 to M12 on the actual master cylinder. It is likely that all other fittings in the brake system are M10.

^^^ correct

I deleted ABS on my GSR and used all lines that were attached to the firewall and the master cylinder assembly from a non-ABS '91 DA. I also had to fabricate two extension lines from the prop valve to the double female adapter.

yes the sphere thing goes bye bye along with the abs computer located behind the passenger side rear panel.(only way to make your abs light stay off)

The ABS computer has been gone for a while, someone cut the ABS sensors before I got the car so the first thing I did was figure out why the light was still on lol

I’m guessing by sphere thing you mean that thing under the battery tray?

It’s the globe looking thing that bolts to the front cross member.

I see the globe thing (circled in green), but it looks to be attached to the frame rail and then there is still this other thing (circled in red) that’s attached to the cross member. (in the images that are attached)
The thing on the cross member has a a wire harness and a hose coming from the thing that the globe thing is attached to. One of the hard brake lines is attached to the globe and another rubber hose that came out of the ABS box is attached to the other thing on the cross member.

lol Also, knowing what the names of these are would be much better too instead of thing 1 and thing 2.
