I have a 92 db2 and my ABS light is on. I followed the trouble shooting guide but when I inspected the ABS computer for the LED light to indicate which code, it never gave me a code. Also, the ABS light does not come on until I have driven at least 8/10 of a mile to a full mile. If I turn the car off after I have driven for a while and immediately turn the car back on, the ABS light still does not come on. I am at a loss. I really would like to fix the issue as I am trying to keep my db2 close to stock and as intact as possible. If anyone has advice, I would appreciate it.
Anyone? I know that these cars have problems with their abs systems and most people delete abs. I am wanting to keep my db2 as stock as possible. If anyone has any advice I would appreciate it.
Hey dpintos, I have a DA GRS and i took of the light bulb out years ago lol . Its coming on because your ABS sensor is most likely dirty as it happens. I would usually have the mechanic inspect it and they would clean the sensor and it would be fine until a few months it would happen again. Planning on deleting my ABS system this summer. I don’t drive her in the winter so no need for it. You can also search how to clean it and do it your self if you like just be carefull…good luck DA’s rock!
Thank you for your input. I will look into it. Anyone else have any input?
suggest taking the wheels off and cleaning the sensors then blasting the ABS rings with some brake cleaner.
may even be a sensor is starting to crap out or the ABS controller has issues.
I will look into it. Thanks again. More suggestions welcomed.
This may sound dumb but try addimg some brake fluid to your resivor. Mine would do the same thing and the light would go out after doing it.
I was low on brake fluid but not extremely low. I topped it off. Drove it. ABS light still comes on around 8/10 of a mi. I guess I will have to try to clean each sensor and move on from there.
If anyone else has any suggestions I would appreciate it.
My ABS overflows from the reserve. I fill it at the master cylinder and over flows at reserve. If you do not top off master cylinder the light will come on. Run the car for a few and then park to check for code. It a pain in the butt to check for the trouble code. My ABS ecu did not work, I had to remove that was not fun. You can try reseting main ECU.
