My car makes this loud ticking noise at any speed over 1 mph. So I took into AAMCO, had it looked at cause I thought it was the tranny making the noise. Come to find out that either the ABS pump motor or modulator unit is making the noise.
Has anyone heard of this happening on our cars? I couldn’t find anything here.
The guy that looked at the car says this happens often on integras.
Can I keep driving like this?
It doesn’t bother me as much as it probably bothers the neighbors.
The think the manual says to take the car into an ABS specialist when it comes to this.
Maybe…
yeah that happend to me but I also noticed the brake pedal going from firm at first then loosing pressure and going to the firewall, all while brakeing… That loud noise you hear is the pressure motor trying to regulate the psi at a constant high, not sure what psi it is but without the high pressure your brakes would feel like if your trying to brake with the engine off.
I just went ahead and did a abs delete, look up a post in the forsale forum some a guy name alan. He has abs delet kits at good prices. the hardest part for me was taking off the old harlines on the firewall, and dont cut off any of the red plugs just unplug them.
I also did the ABS delete once my pump started going bad. The ABS on the G2 sucks anyway and replacing the pump is too damn expensive. I did keep my ABS master cylinder though ;).
