AC help!

so my car has AC and all, but when i push the ac button, nothing happens. the little green light doesn’t come on or anything. anyone know what it could be? ac is hooked up and everything, but ac button does not engage. i’m hoping its something simple x.x help please, very much appreciated!

fuse?

i’ll check that out today… do switches commonly go bad on these cars?

so i feel a bit stupid but i can’t seem to find which fuse powers the ac, could anyone post a pic or tell me what it says? i checked the fuses under the hood and inside the car but still don’t know which one is responsible for the ac. thanks!

Fuse #20 is the one that does the A/C

Fuse #20 is where it gets the power to engage the A/C compressor clutch.

my fuse is good, i even changed it out to a new one but the ac still doesn’t turn on, anyone know what it could be??? really wanting ac ><

You need to check some things. Is the system charged? If so is there voltage on the compressor clutch? do the fans run when you turn the A/C on
(the ones ouder the hood.)?

If you know how it works you may want check out this site.

not to thread jack but this is similar to the question i had…

Upon purchasing my car the a/c didnt work. (3yrs ago). I got it filled in june and it lasted till august before it began getting hot once again so im assuming i have a leak. Im going to order the freeze12 kit off autorefrigerants.com that has the stop leak and an additional can for the hoses ect. I figure that I honestly only need A/C for 3months of summer and i dont want to spend alot- im gonna see how well it works.

my question is: right now i didnt order the refill kit but im wondering if my compressor even works. When i push the button on the dash the light DOES come on, however i dont notice the RPM’s changing which leads me to believe its not working. Is there any noticeable things i should look for, or ways i can check and make its still working.

if there is no refrigerant, the compressor isnt going to work. as for testing it i dont know.

had my a/c fixed last year. Low side valve was leaking. Been working ever since.

ok so that pretty much answered my question, im gonna buy that kit for like 60bucks and fill it- and it should work. I mean it took 3months to leak out so if it doesnt actually seal it- i’ll just keep refilling it.

Theres a uv dye you can buy that will show where any leaks are under a black light. One of my hoses was leaking where the fitting joined the hose. My mechanic replaced it and said that over the years he had seen many leaks at that point especially on honda/acura cars with worn engine mounts. The engine moves under load and constantly puts stress on the hose thus causing leaks. I used a kit similar to the freeze12 one but I also had the original hose replaced.

well both my e30 and my integra leak- i havent tried the dye in the integra but i did in the e30 and wasnt able to find it with the black light…is the dye expensive?

ironically I had the a/c serviced on the contour about 2 weeks before it died. My mechanic checked the system, filled it with r134a and the die. R134a /dye , pressure test, leak check and labor was about $140.
