AC Question

When I first bought my teg a couple of months ago, the AC didn’t blow too great, but it still worked.

Then I was involved in an accident and the car just sat there and wasn’t driven for about 3 weeks. After I got the body damage fixed and got the car back, I noticed that the AC didn’t blow near as cold as it did before and a couple of days later it only blew warm air.

Then about a week after that I noticed that the AC started to smell after about 5 minutes of it on (I just turned it on to get some air moving). It smells a lot like a burnt clutch and when I turn the AC off, the smell goes away.

My question is what’s wrong with it? Why would it do this?

Any help is aprreciated Thanks guys

was it hit in the front? The condensor is up there and if it got damaged your freon probably leaked out. I’m not sure about the burning smell you described, all I can say is that’s not good and I probably wouldn’t run the ac long with it like that. If you didn’t know there is a little “check window thing” on the drivers side, kinda behind the headlight. To use this window, you need to clean it off (cause if you’ve never checked it, it’s probably filthy) and start the car. Turn the AC on and then look at the window. If everything is okay the window should be clear, if it’s cloudy or you have an air bubble, or you got nothing, you have a problem. HTH’s

No, my car was parked and some piss drunk guy who got his ass beat at a party because no one liked him… purposelly slammed into my driver side door repeatedlly and took off. The rear was up on jackstands because I was redoing the brakes and didn’t have time to finish it that night, so I left it on jackstands to finish in the morning. So when he hit it, it knocked the car off the jackstands, impaled itslef on the jacks, and finally laid to rest on the rear bumper and rotors. To top it all off, I know who it was that did it but don’t know where he lives or his address, he doesn’t have insurance, and his license is permantelly suspended for 3 DUI’s! To top that off…this was 2 days after I got it. I’d worked and saved for about 2 years to get it. Sorry for the rant, I just had to let it out man

What do you mean bubble? Where is it located at? On an AC line or something? I’ll check tommorow morning.
