ok i’ve searched but i haven’t found what i’m looking for. am i serching with the wrong words?
well this is what i’m trying to do, i’ve heard that you can put a cb7 stock front lip on the 92-93 bumpers, and i’m trying to do that, but i don’t know where to start first. i’ve heard something about using a heat gun to soften it up, but i don’t know. can someone help me? thanks
You can shape most any plastics with a heat gun (unless it is thermoset) but be aware that the paint if its got some is coming off and if it’s textured black plastic you’ll want to prep and paint after because it may mess with it. You heat where you want to make your shape change until the backside of the plastic is hot to the touch (not melting) then shape it the way you want it, and cool it fast with a cold wet cloth. It should hold it’s shape. Same goes for fixing your bumpercovers and such.
The 94-95 lips and the 96-97 lips are different. The 94-95 lips have a peice that goes over the bumper (in the middle right under the the front grill). The 96-97’s don’t and would prob take less work to modify. It’s prob possible, where there is a will there is a way.
I believe he’s talking about the guy that put the Xenon 90-93 Accord lip (? not sure if its only 92-93 or whatever) on his white DA. It fit a bit short but the shape was decently fitting.
I have a 94 Accord and it has a part in the middle (right under the bumper grill) that goes over the bumper cover, unless that section is hacked it off its a 94-95.
96-97 lips attach entirely under the bumper cover and would prob be less work to modify.
i put on (what i thought) was a 95? accord front lip. had to cut a few inches out of the center if it…i cant remember how to post images up on here, cuz i am a dumb-head. can someone refresh my memory?
