accord rear lip done different

The write up is at the bottom

i’ve been wanting a rear lip for my car for a long time. I never really like the accord rear lip, because the way it mounts to the car it leaves like a step in… well i decided to cut off the portion of the lip that bolts to the car, that way i was able to mount it further up, and eliminate the step that normally happens. Then i decided to cover it with some carbon fiber vinyl wrap. heres some pics of the finished lip. I think it flows a lot better this way, and it really flows well with my type-r style front lip and ford taurus side skirts

OK… Sorry I took so long to get this up, hopefully everything makes sense. If theres any questions just let me know.

In this pic, I want to show everyone the part I cut out so that you can mount it up flush. The arrow points out the part that needs to be removed from the whole lip.

This Pic shows what it looks like after you remove it.

The accord lip is a little too big in length, so i cut and removed a section of the lip on both sides and then glued it back together. The red lines show where i removed a section of the lip on both sides.

Then i covered them in CF vinyl, and used 3m molding tape to mount them to the rear bumper. I put a self tapping screw at each end just to make sure they dont fall off.

I don’t have any pics of the middle piece, but its the same idea as the sides. You just cut off the part that normally mounts to the accord bumper, and then use 3m molding tape to stick it on. I didnt even use any screws on the middle part, just the tape.

Well done. Looks pretty good. Honestly when I opened this I was thinking, “Oh look, another ill fitting accord lip”

Thanks for proving me wrong. I do like the 3M Dinoc on that.

I’m not really a fan of the accord rear lips but the install and recovering of the lip is really nice looking. Good job

love the lip.nice touch with wrap

very nice! and on a 92-93 bumper too!

Very nice one of a kind…

that look really good man!!! ive been looking for a rear lip for a while to and i really like what you did with urs…what year accord lip did you use?

thanks everyone for all the positve feedback… I thought for sure i would get some grief for the cf vinyl.

I will try to post up some pics of what i did soon…

its from a 94-95 accord

its from a 94-95 taurus, all you have to do is cut the length.

how did you cut the rear skirts to fit snug on the rear bumper. DId you just use double sided tape or are they bolted…

ya looks good bro …make a diy thread lol on the side skirts and lip

Can I get the info of how you did all of this stuuf, rear lip and tarus side skirts…LOOKS SICK AS FUCK

yes i used 3m automotive trim tape, which is a super strong double sided tape. I also put a screw at each end, i will try to get some pics of exactly what i did.

someone else already has a thread about the side skirts, but i will try to post up more info about the rear lip as soon as i have time to put it all together…

Has a really smooth look. LOVE IT!
