So I got ma lip but my boys making me a carbon exhaust cover so I’m gona wait till I get that before I fab up the lip so I can line it up with the exhaust cover
Kinda silly to say but just seeing this almost makes me want to keep my Teg. (sigh) I still have so many ideas. That ish looks really good man. Thumbs up for posting it up. I have those same wheels too. Loved 'em.
Hi,
got a quick question about the sideskirts since I followed your write-up. Did you use double-faced tape to glue the skirt too? If so, did you put it all way long inside the skirts? I only put tape a some place but it didn’t hold…
Also, did you screw the skirt to the rocker too?
Thanks for the informations!

I used the 3m tape along the entire edge of the side skirts, and i put a screw at each end ( at the wheel wells)
Thanks! I will do the same
I added two screw under the side skirt (In the rocker panel) and it fit really well without the tape. It’s only “sloppy” so the tape will probably stick a lot more since there’s nothing that put strenght on it.
^^ looks good also
just another tip for anyone with custom sideskirts, Im sure you noticed you cant use the front oem mudflaps. I noticed that you can use the same front mud flaps from the car you got the side skirts.
example I pulled the accord sides and then pulled the same cars front mud flaps, after a wash and clean they looked super clean and oem. You could of never noticed the custom job on it unless your a g2 guber. I cant show pics of mine since my car was just stolen and stripped of everything couple weeks ago.
good bye itr swap
so did you buy the rear lip for an acoord Cb7?
So you cut out a section instead of just cutting the ends off? So the ends look just how they are supposed to and not cut?
Also…how are these holding up on your car?

i cut a section off of each end of each piece, so it looks like nothing was cut off. If you look at my pics above, i marked where i cut out the sections. As far as holding on the car, i used 3m molding tape along the entire thing and put a screw at each end there is also pictures above that show where i put the screws.
love the stance, what setup do you have?
and thanks for the writeup, gives me a few ideas for my ek side skirts project.

i’ve been wanting a rear lip for my car for a long time. I never really like the accord rear lip, because the way it mounts to the car it leaves like a step in… well i decided to cut off the portion of the lip that bolts to the car, that way i was able to mount it further up, and eliminate the step that normally happens. Then i decided to cover it with some carbon fiber vinyl wrap. heres some pics of the finished lip. I think it flows a lot better this way, and it really flows well with my type-r style front lip and ford taurus side skirts
OK… Sorry I took so long to get this up, hopefully everything makes sense. If theres any questions just let me know.
In this pic, I want to show everyone the part I cut out so that you can mount it up flush. The arrow points out the part that needs to be removed from the whole lip.
This Pic shows what it looks like after you remove it.
The accord lip is a little too big in length, so i cut and removed a section of the lip on both sides and then glued it back together. The red lines show where i removed a section of the lip on both sides.
Then i covered them in CF vinyl, and used 3m molding tape to mount them to the rear bumper. I put a self tapping screw at each end just to make sure they dont fall off.
I don’t have any pics of the middle piece, but its the same idea as the sides. You just cut off the part that normally mounts to the accord bumper, and then use 3m molding tape to stick it on. I didnt even use any screws on the middle part, just the tape.[/QUOTE]
So you cut the ends off of the lip and then started to trim away at the middle piece of the lip? i was mounting mine today and noticed it is long , so of course i have to trim it.
just wanted to make sure that is how you trimed the peice? correct me if im worng thanks.
ya, i had to shorten both ends. The end by the wheel, and the end by the exhaust
so what kind of glue did you use to hold the pieces back together after cutting them ? or do you think the carbon wrap helped alot keeping it together? sorry for the questions just trying to get all the stuff together before i start. Also do you think its possible to cut the lip to form around the mud flap so i dont have to lose it?
i used super glue gel. I think the cf wrap did help, but it probably would have held up with out it as well. not really sure about the mud flaps.
im the process of fabricating these for my car. the rear lip that is. im kinda of lost on some of this.
i took the top lip that connected to the accord bumper off on both the valence parts.
the middle section do i cut that off on top also?
did you do your fitment with the bumper on the car?
why did you have to cut a section off by the exhaust?
did you use a heat gun to help with any of the molding for it?
how do you brace the middle part?
if its onnly tape where do you put the tape?
i will have additional pictures for your diy of little things you left out
