acura integra 94-2001 manual seatbelt conversion.

since finding cdm seat belts hard to find, (i have a pair from a 2000 acura integra) i was wondering if anyone has done the manual seatbelt conversion from taking the seatbelts from the newer integra? I have test fitted and it acutally fits in pretty good. I also found brackets that are made of metel to hold up the belt and i just wasn’t sure if it was safe, but it has to be safe because the thin layer of the body holds the seatbelts retractor. It goes for the same with the newer integras, its a really really thin layer of sheet metel that holds up the retractor(just to describe it). i will start this project soon but please give opinion…

conversion complete

so i did the conversion and will have pics soon (after i put back every plastic part)…it only cost about $6 to do it…so i bought the custom made brackets from home depot, drilled holes and bolted the seatbelt…but to hold up the seatbelt from the pillar you should go to a shop and weld the bolt to the hole or bolt it from the oem bolt…RESULT…it came out very good. Safety comes first so I tested at least 40-50 hard stops with a passenger. It retracts on a dime!!! I even hammered the welded bolt soo hard to see if it will brake off but it helded on tight. NOTE i am not responsible for any injury for the converion…

that sounds great. i’d like to see the results.

i never thought of that :werd:

well seat belt conversion may look good but its just not a 100% kind of thing you know?
and its not like there runing crash tests on converted seat belts

yea i know… but as long as u do it right it should be safe, right… might be attemping this soon but still gotta worring about the pillar panels… thinking about triming them down and drill a hole…
