Adjustable Upper A-Arms

Hopefully this is in the right topic but I need to know ifthere are any companies that make adjustable upper a-arms for DA’s. I emailed omni directly and they said they don’t. Just wondering if any body knows of anythin

revo technica makes them but ther not available yet. also vision makes them but it only adds negative camber.

Vision. Adj. upper arms
These things are amaizing. Just expensive.

Amazing? Yeah I guess if don’t want to fix your camber problems.

Depends on what your camber problems are. Mine were that I didn’t have enough negative camber.

Have you run into issues with the ball joint sliding out (or in, as the case would be) during hard cornering?

With the Visions? No.

Nino,
Do you take your car to the track, is that why you needed more negative camber? I guess in that case yes they would be Amazing then. I got owned.

Yeah. The car was used for autox and the arms were perfect. Extra camber as well as caster. There are some pics of the car on Duy’s website:

Nice. I can’t wait to get all these parts on that i’ve been buying to see how the car handles once i’m done. I just can’t decide on what coilovers to go with. Planning on spending about a grand. I already got GC’s and was just going to buy the koni yellows, new GC sleeves, and then the adaptors. But for a few hundred more I can just get full on coilovers. I was thinking about the Koni 1150’s for the DC. But the spring rate on them is designed for the dc chassis/weight. But shouldn’t be too much different.

What do you plan on doing with the car?

What is the adjustment range on those A-arms? I’m sitting okay at -2.5 each side right now, but I might want to go a bit further into the depths of negative camber land in the future.

It’s my daily driver but I plan on taking it to the track maybe a few times a year to have some fun with it. My friend has some Tein SS’s on his Da. I was thinking about them. But I actually want to get something different. I was looking at those Tanabe Sustec Pro S-OC’s but I don’t like how they don’t have an adjustable dampner on them. I like the Koni 1150’s cause Koni has a solid reputation.

Bender-san, I’m not sure what the range is, but I’ve got mine set to max positive and I’m at around -3.5 negative.

JDM1nt2B, If you’re only going to be doing a few track days per year, it seems like Koni yellows would be the perfect match for you. The 1150s seem like over kill. Unless you’ve got money burning a hole in your pocket.

-3.5 is the max POSITIVE!!! Wow…these things aren’t fucking around, are they.

Nino,
Here’s my delima. Koni Yellows ~$550 or so + shipping. New GC sleeves $15 each x 4, GC Koni adapters $20 each x 4 = $140 + tax + shipping. Thats about $700, and probably end up $750 after shipping and tax. I already have the GC’s.

The Koni 1150’s are $1050 from jegs, probably like $10 shipping from them. I could sell my GC’s and almost be in it the same amount of money.

What are the spring rates? What are the physical dimensions of the springs? One of the nice things about running GCs is that there are a bunch of people out there that are running them which makes it easy to find used springs if you ever want to change your rates. Don’t forget to factor in DC front forks for your price comparison.

It’s just the standard spring rates for the kit I have. Don’t know the dimensions of them. Just ordered the standard kit direct from them and put them on the KYB GR2’s. Front DC forks my friend has a set of those so they are free.

Sorry, I meant the spring rates and dimensions for the springs that come with the 1150s.

Called Koni and they don’t publish their spring rates. The tech guy said it’s going to be slightly stiffer that stock, but it has the external adjustable dampner on top. And it does use the stock tophat piece (gay).

Here’s some info off of Koni’s website
KONI North America is happy to announce the arrival of the new KONI Threaded Suspension Kits.
The kits include four KONI Sport valved struts and/or shocks featuring threaded adjustable lower spring perches (where applicable) and progressive rate lowering springs designed for performance street driving. The kits are engineered in a joint effort with KONI divisions in Holland, Germany and North America and are tested on Germany’s framed, high speed Autobahns.

Threaded coil over suspensions not only allow the user to individualize the ride height but also to improve handling through corner weighting or weight jacking. Additionally the car can be run low in the summer and raised for winter driving.

The kits were designed to give the vehicle a preferred ride height of 1.5" to 2.0" below stock ride height but the threading range allows the owner to make the ride height considerably higher or lower. It is always recommended that the kits be installed with bump rubbers because the threaded range of perch adjustment may allow the vehicle to sit low enough (for show or display purposes) to risk bottoming internally without them. Also, care should be taken in setting ride height so as to not allow oversized rims and tires to rub on the car.

Adj. spring perch can lower car approx. 60mm
