adusting/aligning doors

i have a 2 door. Anyone tried or done aligning/adusting their doors? My doors are misaligned and closes weird and kinda hard to open. In the Helms, they indicate pins…so do you just hammer those pins out and adjust them or wut?? thanx

this may be of some use: http://www.g2ic.com/tegtips/interior/23.html

that was some use when i searched last year…but thats not the case. I’m talkin about the actual adjustment/alignment of the hinges

Yeah, your door pins, you can knock it out w/ a hammer from the bottom and adjust the door slightly. I’d have a jack and a friend for assistance while doing this. My car was hit on the driver’s side door, so I had a lot of realigning to do when ever I took it to the shop to fix it. There is a metal bracket that the door closes on to. (The mechanism that releases it when you pull the handle.) If your door is not closing all the way, loosen the bracket and slide it towards the inner of your car, if closing too much slide it towards the outside of your car, if the door needs up and down adjustment you may need realign the actual door brackets, but that usually isn’t the case because those don’t move from the factory unless someone has moved them.

thanx for the reply. yea…i wanted to make sure if those pins actually come out by easily hammering it or not cuz i didn’t wanna jus go at it. I’ve already adjusted that lil bracket before, but my door needs actual up and down adjustment. Doesn’t shut properly. The door sits low and the window molding on the door doesn’t align with the rear molding on the quarter glass.
