Advance Timing

Hey guys, I advanced my timing at least i think i did.

Here is what i did

I basically warme dup the car loosen the dis bolts and turn it about half way toward the firewall of what is left from the middle. however after reading some posts i understand that i needed to jump the service connecters?

Can i just jump it now or should i set my dis back to normal and redo the whole thing. Also if i do redo the whole thing, when i jump the service connecters do i leave the paperclip on it when i turn the distributor with the engine on?

Last question is… this service connecter is just hanging somewhere under the passenger side dash correct? Or do i have to open the ECU area and jump the cables in there? Let me know guys thx

just jump the service connector and adjust it from there… leave the paperclip in there while you do it too…

That service connector is right behind the panel next to the front passenger door speaker. …

o, and hope you’re using a timing gun to advance your timing… it sure helps. but only if you wanna stay within specs (+/- 2 degrees)… otherwise, turn it all the way towards the firewall!!!

i’ll just do a lil at a time and if i can go more i will. i use 93 octane at all times so hopefully it won’t kill my engine
