Advice on putting in engine

Putting in my engine this weekend. The B18B motor with manual trans.

Wondering if anyone has experience, such they can advise having alt, p/s, a/c pumps and brackets on when u drop it in? Also, seems to me easier to bolt on exhaust and intake before dropping in as well?

My evergreen gasket kit came with 2 intake manifold gaskets. Anyone know how to select the most appropriate kind? One is very thin, paper, the other is built up of 3 - inside and outside thin paper, middle gasket is fairly thick.

Exahust gasket has indentation on ports, and wondering which mating side this is for?

thanks!

Its about time you finish that thing up

I personally think putting all the acc’s on first is a lot easier then trying to put all that stuff on while its in the engine bay. I also leave the back t bracket off untill I have the motor where it needs to be then I maneuver it in there

the paper gasket is the IM gasket and the 3 layered one is for the exhaust. well that usually the case anyways, not sure about the markings on it. can you post a picture.

Remove the crank pully before installing. For 2 reasons 1) so you don’t break one of the drive belt lips off and 2) gives about 2 1/2 inches of extra space on the drivers side.
