first off ive never bought tires for anything lowered or with aftermarket wheels. my setup is 2.5 inch drop all around with 17x7 adr wheels. tire size and brand model recomdations would be appreciated thank you g2ic
I have Nexen 5000 on my 17’s right now. I paid $380 at a shop down the street. I can’t say how awesome these tires are. They are NOT the stickiest, best gripping tires. They are NOT the cheapest tires. They do NOT have the best tread wear. BUT they are/do have the best of all three that you can get. You won’t find a tire that last a long time but is also sticky and grabs good. Let me put it too you this way, I have yet to get them to squeal going around a turn and I’ve put 40,000 miles on them with at least another 10,000 left. They’re supposed to be 60,000 mile tires so I’m pretty close.
Something that will factor in is your camber. I drive a sentra spec v now so I don’t have near the camber issues I did on my integra. I also try to rotate them about every other oil change as well. Hope this helps you.
alright thank you for your advice, but i also need to know a what tire size to get.
anybody have advice on tire size
i have both the Kumho ASX and XS and love them both. The XS are for track and ASX for street. but my next track tire will be Bridgestone’s. You don’t have to buy off them but check out tirerack.com they compare tire and can give you prorated sizes.
Bridgestones FTW… check out the 960AS pole positions, or Grid G019… They’re a great all around tire but can be kinda pricey especially in a low profile 17" tire. I usually see people run a P205/45R17 or a P215/40R17 on a honda/acura. Make sure you get at least an H speed rated tire, Ideally you’ll want something along the lines of a V or Better. Tire rack is a great site to read reviews and get more info on the tires. I hear good things about TOYO tires too…
i have kuhmos ast and asx and there pretty good for the rating tire they are//they grip and get sticky…but the simply suck on partially wet roads… i have 15inch rims i have 195/50’s you might want 195/40’s since ur 2inches lowered riding on 17’s
You should say what type of tires you want recommended. There’s performance tires like Bridgetsone Re-11, Falken Azenis RT-615k, Kumho XS, Dunlop Direzza Star Spec etc…Do you want all season, which is if you will be driving in Snow. otherwise I would get a high performance tire or you can get a tire like Yokohama S.Drives, Falken 912 and so on…Then there’s just the regular all-season tires to choose from. Tires are a HUGE factor on the car so decide with extreme consideration of what you need/want.
sorry bout that mattyg2 you have a great point. im looking for high performance tires, that are not horrible in rain. i dont drive my car in the winter.
