AIM control arms

i have a pair of adjustable control arms on my car and when the car is at a low stance, the top of the control arms, where they bolt into the back towards the motor, hits the inside of the car right above the bolts that are holding the control arm in. This sucks really bad because i still have like 2 1/2 inches from the tire and the fenderwell and the car is all the way down. I just put stock springs in until i can figure something out. Anyone know anything about these. If i got the camber correction kits that are just different bolts that come out further towards the outside of the car to bolt the control arms in, wouldn’t that put the control arms away from hitting the car right up in that area?HELP

your adjustable control arms are made to correct camber?

if you’re lowered past about 3" and you correct the camber with a normal camber kit your upper control arm will hit the inner fender well. Its really not a big deal. Mine has made little dents there. Once it pushes the metal out of the way its cleared its own space to move. Shenrie even went as far as to cut big holes in the strut towers in order to allow his control arms to travel freely.

if you’ve got a 2.5" gap between the tires and fender, and your camber is set to stock and you’re hitting the control arm… then something is fishy.

91tegGS, I am going to attempt to put my coil overs back on, i think they are just some APC coil overs, the reason why i took them off is because they creaked around all the time but when they were off i saw that the perch that the spring sits on was upside down and the spring wasn’t sitting around the part that fits inside the spring to keep it moving around, also i am going to put some sort of rubber under them and around them. Any other ideas or info is appreciated.

The purpose of adjustable UCAs is that you can adjust camber without lowering the vehicle.

Two questions:

Do these UCAs include the A-arms? If so then it could be that yours are at max adjustment (positive or negative) and are making contact with the car because you’ve lowered it as well.

Are these actual adjustable UCAs, or are they for camber correction only (makes - camber +).

Please clarify where the contact is being made. I’m having trouble picturing it, so I’m not really helping very much.

the contact is being made right above the bolts that the control arms are bolted into, the control arms are from AIM. They are just designed to adjust your camber up to 4 degrees, which i don’t need, but when i bought them i didn’t realize that. Anyway that is where they are hitting. the ball joint is the part that slides back and forth to adjust the camber on them, and it pivots a little to left and right. Help any
