Air Duct Idea

as for these ducts are they honestly a noticable difference.

I’ve been wanting to do this for a while now…While I wait for the CF version to come out for sale, I did my own ghetto fab air duct.

Haven’t really had a chance to test it out, but it’s has to be better than that big ol’ breather box that was there.

I love the craftsmanship but seeing that the foglight solution is better because there are people who homes get floaded when it rain or stuck in a situation or perhaps a opening between the foglight would be ideal then again people might go for a light weight hood just a bit.

Could someone possible decrypt this message?

I believe he is referring to the opening below the turn signal on 90-91 bumpers (see pic below) and the chance of water getting in the engine from floods.

The cover pops on and off. When it rains I put it on with a piece of duct tape covering the vents.

If there is severe flooding then I will have to disconnect the pipe from the oem intake.

this carbon fiber duct doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. it’s every man to him self at this point.
I’ve never worked with fiberglass but it doesn’t mean its impossible, i’m going to give it a shot to make one on my own.

been a long time…but not dead. have a left side prototype done, starting the mold of it next week. pictures arent uploading to the site for some reason…i tried to show you guys…will try again later.

I’va done mine out of Fiberglass…will post pics to let everyone see how I did it in two pieces so I can put it on the bumper without modifications.

I have also attempted my own rendition of this however, mine is super ghetto. Lol better than nothing i guess. I would really like to see how your guys’ came out.

I am ready to buy one, do you have any right sides laying around?

Here’s what I’m working on. Keep in mind that both parts need to be trimmed and “smoothed”. I need to figure out a clean way to fix all of this to the bumper. Also, mine is for an Intake Cold Box I am making.

Here’s what it’ll look like from the front. I plan to trim the outside edge a little. The black line inside is because I plan to make the bumper hole bigger so more air can go through the vent.

As you can see, the exterior part is mostly for look and probably the way I’ll fix everything. This is what it looks like without the exterior part.

The Main part of the vent from behing the bumper. Not as smooth as the exterior part but I don’t care. I need to smooth the interior a little though.

Both parts.

How they look in one part.

I will post more pic when everything is done.

Hope that give some ideas.

Wat would u be making those out of id be interested if u can make both sides cuz ibwoukdnt be using as an intake just for looks

I will no doubt buy the piece that goes on the inside of the bumper for both sides if you ever sell them. I have looked high and low for something like that.

I don’t plan on making more or selling them as I don’t have the skills and time to make them, at least not for now. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for the comment.

What did you use to fabricate them? Fiberglass?

Yup.

That’s awesome and very innovative! Sell that sht lol

Bump still want one

still working on them , gentlemen… carbon left side this week.

silchuki14 - did you vacuum bag that part? and yes, these are very hard to fabricate…

as for the rear section, they are already easily available on ye’ olde’ ebay:

Nop, I didn’t vaccum that part because I don’t know what it is lol.

I am sure they’re not as smooth as yours
