hey guys/girls. im trying to put in an air/fuel ratio gauge into my 91 LS, i read the installation instructions from auto-meter’s website and they are saying that it will only work on narrowband O2 sensors. i dont know if i have a narrowband or a wideband, but i only have 1 wire on my O2 sensor, in the instructions, it shows 3. a positive, negative, and a signal. i hooked it up to the one wire that i have, and the gauge showed rich, even after my car went to operating temp. please help me out here guys. i searched and couldnt find anything. if you know where another thread is that will help me. please point me in the correct direction.
Thanks.
i have a meter also. i got mine like 3yrs ago. so unless they changed how it works it should work. i used it on a obd0 car and my obd1 DA now
check ur connections, and how u wired up ur meter.
did you just connect it to the 1 wire coming out of your o2 sensor? and everything worked fine? cuz i was also thinking about getting an ECU pin-out and splicing the signal wire right into my ECU.
i connected it close to the o2 sensor on the obd0 car.
however on my DA i had connected it the same, but when i replaced my
o2 sensor i had to move the connector splice to just off the ECU. dont know why it happened like this but its working.
Hmmm, I have a sport comp 2 A/F gauge. Mines stays rich until I actually drive for a few minutes. Then the meter evens out and stays within the stoich range. My Teggy is also obd0. Does yours budge when driving? It sounds like it’s only getting ground and power. Maybe the O2 sensor is messed up or the connection on the sensor wire is insufficiently spliced.
i have a air/fuel ratio too. just wondering if your using a stock bong or w/es it is or a aftermarket one like wideband o2sensor…AEM? i only have the guage but wondering if i need to get a aftermarkt one (sensor on the header or testpipe)
Not sure who you’re asking this question for. But I 'm assuming you’re reffering to the o2 sensor itself, and how to connect it. I’m using a stock O2 sensor (1 wire) spliced into the signal wire of my gauge. No wideband; everything is functional.
yeah i got mine working, your o2 sensor needs to warm up before the gauge works, i have an obd0 91 integra with a b18A1 and my guage works fine.
