Alarm problem... or ground?

I had an alarm installed by some retard, and it stopped working. Im thinking its a ground problem jsut because my right side fog light also stopped working(i dont believe its burned out but havent tested it yet). My remote starter/alarm doesnt work at all. I know because my remote doesnt read it, i used my spare remote, same thing. Could this be a ground problem? Im assuming it is because I found a wire for my actuator cut in 2 peices so possibly the power and ground could have been touching, but if this is so how can i reset my alarm to work? Would one of the million fuses have blown?

Sorry guys i know this is a lot of stupid info. Im not great with electrical work so Im finding this a pain in the ass. I looked on autozone for wiring diagrams but couldnt find one for just the interior. Anyone have any suggestions? Main thing is I want to know one way you can reset an alarm? I was thinking of taking off the battery cables and putting it back on… but I didnt think thatd do anything lol. please help.

some help please???

If your alarm affected your fogs, then both should be out. I mean one switch activates both fogs, so they are on the same circuit. To be sure, maybe swap fog bulbs left and right and check.
My alarm gave out one day too. Mine had a start kill so disconnecting the battery and reconnecting made it not startable. If you are lucky you can get away with disconnecting the battery, putting the key in the II position of the ignition barrel, and reconnecting the battery, but not every alarm allows you to override the ignition kill this way.
If you want to check for an ignition kill you’ll have to take off those panels under your steering column. When the key is turned to III on the ignition barrel there is contact between a thick white, black with white stripe, and brown with yellow stripe wire. An ignition kill alarm will have cut into the white or black with white stripe wire.

Need more info…

MM&Y of car to start with, yea we know it’s probably a G3.

Make and model of alarm is a must.

It is unlikely that the fog light, [that is out] is in any way related to your alarm problem, unless the installer really is a no mind.

BTW disconnecting the batt., [neg.(-) terminal] is the way you would reboot any alarm, unless there is a back-up batt. installed, however rebooting the alarm will not reprogram the remotes, which sounds like the problem you are having.:corn:94

the alarm is some no name crap. I ahd a problem with my fog a while back adn it ended up being some ground problem. but the alarm itself is whats bothering me lol. my alarm does not have a kill switch on it. not yet anyways.
