All you B16 Nuts

Need some advice. Im leaning to dropping a 1st gen B16 with the tranny they come with into my little 90 teggie. My B18 has 180,000 unwanted miles on it and I do not want to build that up. Here are my questions-

  1. What axles to use
  2. Do I need to replace the clutch
  3. What do I need to do to keep the AC / Power steering
  4. How accurate is the 30-40’k milage

I will have more questions later, and I just want to know what I need to do to make this swap right the first time.
Thanks

  1. you can use 2g integra axles
  2. you dont -have to- but it’s a good idea. clutches probably go bad after sitting for a few years, or at the least get rusted.
  3. ps/ac should bolt right up
  4. they should be pretty accurate, really there’s no way to tell, I’ve read that it’s possible to get a JDM engine with 60k miles on it also.

I just did the B16 swap into my '91 integra. I got the gen2 with a cable ys1 tranny for the extra torque and HP. my swap was/is still a major headache, but that’s only because of the OBD0 OBD1 crap. I wish I had not been greedy for those 10 extra HP cuz if I had just gone with just the gen1 it would have gone smoothe as silk cuz the engine itself went in fine, but it’s the wiring that is messing me up. Basically, from what I have learned from my swap I can tell you you should be happy with the gen1. I was able to use my stock axles (one broke so I had to get a new one, but its still oem) cuz it’s the same tranny that comes with the gen1 b16. I didn’t bother with my AC, but the Power steering pump from my LS won’t go back on until I get an upper DelSol bracket, but other than that it will work. The clutch in the tranny they sent is strong as hell. I was worried about it at first but it grabs like nobodys business. And finally here’s what I understand about the milage; this is only what I was told, so If its wrong don’t hate me. In Japan they apply stricter smog regulations to their vehicles. After 30k miles, drivers have to pay an extra tax, or prep the engine to pass certain smog tests or something like that. Basically what many people do apparently is pull their engines after 30k, or just sell their cars and get new ones. that’s why they assume it’s 30k, but at any rate, you could guess that the mileage is relatively low.
sorry for the long post. I tend to ramble, but I hope this helps.

Del Sol won’t work. You need one from a 92-93 GSR my friend.

Just curious why Del Sol brackets won’t work cuz I was under the impression that the '94 Del Sol si engine is identical to my B16A and the parts will swap out between the two (besides the obd stuff).

Because the power steering pump is different… . the bracket will bolt up fine but it will not line the power steering pump up correctly.
