Being as most of our cars are approaching 20 years old, has any one thought of getting collector plates. In Minnesota the only requirement is that the car has to be 20 years old and not driven as a daily driver, and also own another vehicle. Just a one time fee of $25.00 + filing fee and $15.00 for the plates for life of the car. Not a bad deal. My car won’t be eligible for another 3 years. My friends think I am nuts to have collector plates on a Integra. I think why not. Something different. What do you think?
I’m thinking about doing the same thing. People think our cars will never be a collector but people also said the same ting 40 years ago and they wore wrong. I say go for it,you never know.
Ill just get my self a bike, put a motor on it and go register the dam thing:rockon: Nu JK. im going to put my grandmas X cop car in my name and see about talking her in to letting me drive it:)
I’m getting classic tags for my teg next summer when it’s done and looking nice again lol. In pa you can get classic tags once your car is 15 years old
Best thing I ever did for my 1992 GS-R is to put Classic plates on it. For one reason only, I was able to get collector car declared value insurance. So, if anything happens I am well covered for its true value…not the $2800 to $3900 book value that I would get with traditional insurance.
Hey jfarber
What all did you have to do to get the classic plates in pa? i would like to get them for my gsr too. does the car have to be all original?
thanks
