alternator?

recently my battery light came on…

i was thinking it was my alternator…since i replaced my battery 2 months ago…

the thing is…

when i rev past 4k…the light goes off…
but when it goes under 4k…the light stays on…

any idea whats going on?

ok im not electrician but… you should just take out you’re battery and take it to atuozone (or any other place that charges batterys) and get the battery fully charged. drive around in the car for a while. and take it out and take it back to autozone and get it checked to see if its fully charged. if its almost dead then the ALTERNATOR is not doing its job of keeping it charged and you need a new one. or you can take it to a shop and they can test the alternator for you and tell you if its working properly. the test should be free unless they are cheap asses. well good luck.

Sounds like brushes going on the alt., although it could be the voltage regulator or the alt. itself.
Take your car to a batt./alt. shop and have them do a load check of the charging system, it only takes a min. and most places do it for free.

If the “battery light” comes on there is no, or little output from the alt., there is also the possibility that you have a problem with the ICU, as the output from the alt. that controls the batt. light, [supplies it with a ground] is also connected, in parallel, with the ICU.:hmm:94
