Ami's 1993 DB2 #000005

Hello, G2IC! I’ve been a reader since 2003 but never really posted much due to having primarily G1 and G3 Integras. I’ve wanted an Aztec Green DB2 since I was 16. I’m almost 29 now so I’m so thrilled to see this dream come true!

I bought a DB2 from a local G2IC & Team-Integra member over the weekend! It has 199,5xx miles on the original B17A1 and transmission. Like the title indicates, this is the 5th DB2 produced in 1993.

It has a salvage title because it was hit at less than 10 MPH a few years back. The body shop didn’t do a very good job at blending the paint, as you will see below. It definitely needs a good bit of work but my husband and I are definitely up for the task! Despite all of that, we’re happy to give this DB2 a happy, loving home!

Special thanks go to the previous owner for taking great care of this car for the 20 years before it became mine, and to my wonderful husband for letting me buy this even though I already had 4 cars…

Without further adieu, I present my DB2 project!

From the “for sale” thread:

It is going to take a lot of time and patience but I look forward to cruisin’ with that B17A1.

I’m glad to see that car went to a good home! Hopefully your plans are to fix up and preserve it

Nice, glad it went to a member who will fix it instead of buying it to part it out.

Thank you!

Due to the salvage title, paint issues, and a smattering of rust, restoration is not on the agenda. As of right now, our plans include a clutch adjustment, timing belt/water pump service, fresh filters and fluids all around, general tune-up, brake work (new pads and rotors all around, rebuilding the calipers, and flushing the brakes), new rear hubs, swapping a door panel, and trying to minimize water leaks. Of course, we’ll see what else comes up.

I definitely don’t intend to part this car out. I just want to do stupid things in green GS-Rs like I did when I was younger. :giggle:

Congrats! It took me about 9 years to get to the right time and place to find an AGP. I have 92 #0557, welcome to the club

I was wait for the guy you bought this car from to send me a video of the car running but you bought it:facepunch::+1:t3:

Well, Dan and I have been working on this DB2 over the winter. I’m not nearly awake enough to type something original, so I’ll copy the progress updates from Facebook.

Now, this car pretty much just needs brake calipers and bleeding and a clutch adjustment before Virginia state inspection.

I’m really glad that I had the opportunity to see inside this engine. It’s surprisingly clean in there!

We are definitely looking forward to the Generation 2 Integra Club meet in May!

Ami! Hey, looks like this one is coming along nicely! I have plans in the works to get my hands on an Aztec pretty soon myself

Hope things are going well. Tyson

Thank you and same to you! I just got back from Pinehurst and it was the trip of a lifetime! Thanks again for your effort. Let me know when you get your DB2! I have a factory service manual if you ever need me to take pictures of some pages for you.

I’ve never been to a G2IC meet so I am excited! It’s in Frederick, MD (Washington, DC area) on Sunday, May 22.

We couldn’t have been happier!!! Thank you. Saving this car from the yard was my exact intention. I knew we could give this car a loving home.

I will be putting it up for sale soon, actually. I will keep you posted!

Brake calipers and bleeding - check.

She passed Virginia emissions inspection, but the nearby shop didn’t have a safety inspector in yesterday so I’ll take her in later.
