Amplifier repair

Hey guys. I have an Infinity 255a 5 channel amplifier that I purchased back in 2000. It turned out to be somewhat of a lemon and malfunctioned twice (and repaired) before the warranty was up (it would cycle on and off). The third time that it acted up I just removed the entire amplified system from the car. I kept the amp though because since the warranty was up, I had always wanted to tinker with it to see if I could repair it myself.

The only thing is that I cannot get the components out of the metal case. There is a slot that the green board on the inside slides along, but it seems to be stuck. There is a white grease along this “track”.

Does anyone have any ideas how to get this out of the metal casing? I was thinking of using a slide hammer to try to jar it loose.

Here is a pic of the amplifier. I can get some more in depth ones if anyone has any experience with this.

Have you made sure any component that was attatched to the head sinks are disconnected?

Is it the same set up as the 202a… http://forum.realmofexcursion.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=3559&size=big ? 94
