I was wondering something while reading an issue of Honda Tuning the other day. I’ve been wondering what our cars would look like, with a “DA/DB specific” replica of the JDM DC2 Front Ends.
My reasoning behind this question, is because I really love the look of the JDM front bumpers on DC2 Integras. And, given that their headlights are the same shape as ours (not the circle headlights), that the overall shape of the front end wouldn’t be drastically changed. Just, that it would obviously be meant to line up and fit with our body lines.
SO, this front bumper:
on our front ends.
Maybe even making sure that the bottom portion of the bumper has mounting points in the exact same position as the DC2 bumper, so that we’d have the same front lip options as well for our cars. I’ve seen DAs with DC2 headlight conversions, but never the full front end. But, I’m mainly curious to see what it COULD look like with our, otherwise, stock front ends.
This would be a great look to the DA,but IMO would defeat the point in having a DA all together. Also, the DA bumper bolts are placed behind the bumper lights, the DC R bumper don’t have lights, unless they make it to where the air duct has the mounting points. I would love to see this DC R front conversion made though,i think it would make our cars stand out much more if its done right.
EDIT: i would have to look for the pic,but my friend has a red DA with the 94/95 R headlights on it,he had to mold and cut just to fit it in.
As you can see,the hood had to be extended an inch on both sides and the bumper had to be cut to fit,and it still didn’t fit just right.
Anything is possible though, people welded a DC front on a civic hatch and it looked nice. The parts would need to be “MUCH” smaller and shorter, but i can so see this idea work out.
IMO,though. The Type r front is a knockoff to our front end,but with a little more poop to it…lol
That is a nice DC! This would be a great idea, and I would have to agree with the mouldings looking weird with out it, but I would recomend just cutting the top half of a 90-93 front bumper from a DA then then combining it with the bottom half of a JDM DC2 front bumper.
i had a picture of a DA with a jdm dc2 front end on my old comp but video card went out… it looks clean but at the same time a lil off because the rest of the car is more squared off as opposed to the rounder dc front end update
found it in my photobucket account

WOW,that looks good, but the only thing I’m not liking is how the top part of the fender buy the windshield is. That red one though, wish i had some lotion it looks so good.
oh hahaha well i just posted the whole conversion… i was actually planning on putting a jdm dc2 bumber on my db2 but eh i love the gen2 look better. i test fitted it though, it looked pretty nice
Yeah guys, I’m not looking for the whole front end conversion. That white one posted is close, showing that the bumper itself can look great with the overall chassis, but the white is a full DC2 Front End. If a company could make JUST the bumper, that would be awesome. I’d buy one.
