i am pretty sure i have read everything there is to this conversion. however, i cant seem to get any direct information on the rear other then these three responses:
real ITR rear trailing arms, usdm or jdm.
non-ITR DC (94-01) trailing arms with type-r/prelude/crv hubs.
stock rear disk civics (92-00) trailing arms with the same hubs as #2.
so i guess the question i have is…
WHY CANT I USE THE OEM DA/DB1/2 REAR TRAILING ARMS?
i dont want a beat around the bush answer. only threads i want to be linked to should be either a well explained answer as to why i cant use them. not the answer i have been seeing of “just get DC TAs” or “they dont work”. please, straight answer. is it dimensions of spindle??
The trailing arm between all of these cars is the same(there are negligable differences that we wont get into). The trailing arm bush is slightly different on the DA etc. A thread was posted on HT and advised to use the 5 lug rear hub with the nut from an early model Protege or some other Mazda. I’m at work, so I’ll find the thread and link it.
i did see that thread and have been through it a few times. post #8 is what was throwing me. didnt think the thread was talking about the bushing, figured it was something else with the spindle.
