My AC was working like last summer…
i went to use it today. i press the ac button while on fan level 4 or any level it doesnt engage?..i poped da hood open and noticed the condensor fan isnt on and compressor clutch not moving…the ac button is pressed down but no light…
i check da level of refrigerant its about a fair level…
what could be goin on…fuses are fine…blower blows but ac does not engage using button…no light either or cold air…i dont think i need more refrigerant
get one of those topoff cans they sell… you put it on and press the button… and it charges to the proper presure with some internal regulator… cant hurt because most a/cs around leak a little bit over time unless they did a overhaul
ac was recharged using r134 retrofit kit…i had to jump the clutch wire on the compressor for it to ingage. cold air now comes out the vents…VERY COLD  …but after recharging i removed the jumper i used to engage the compressor clutch…the A/C button doesnt light or engage the clutch nor turn on the AC fan…
did my a/c switch go bad… can this be replaced?..
so for now i have a switch hooked up to the compressor for ac to work and just set the fan to whatever level i like…kinda want the A/C stock button.
how can i fix this? is this possible? anybody have a similar problem?
134a does run at slightly diffrent presures… maybe your switch was starting to go out and the diffrent presure makes a diffrence…
i hear ya on the wanting the stock a/c button to work… the last owner of my car did that shit… thats why i havent bothered to fix the smokers a/c…
on my red car tho the a/c light doesnt work eather… and i havent been able to find a way to change the light… so i think its burnt out
