Another caliper question .. (seized?)

Ok, symptoms:

  • car pulls left during driving
  • steering vibrates under braking (heavy or light)
  • left front wheel squeals (constant), not easy to spin by hand

I am thinking it is my left front caliper, and possibly a warped rotor causing the squeal, because of the caliper? Any chance this is a wheel bearing as well?

So if it turns out to be the caliper, would you:

Buy a caliper rebuild kit
Buy a reman caliper
Buy an OEM caliper (I can get cost +10%)

And should I do BOTH front calipers, or just the one side … of course i’d have to buy front pads and machine rotors, bleed lines.

Help me … this is eating my gas mileage too I think :frowning:

Buy a rebuilt caliper – just the one you need, unless you check your other side and find it’s not in very good shape either (you might wanna take that one apart and lube it up though).

And yeah it’s probably a warped rotor causing the vibration, so get your rotors cut or replaced (if you take it to a shop they’ll let you know if they can cut them or if they’re too far gone).
