I work with a guy whos brother owns a junkyard and he seen if they had any vtec engines. They have one from a 99/2000 car and its vtec, he didnt know the details of which engine or car it was from, but i assume its still a vtec bseries of some sort right? the didnt make new engines til the Ivtec in the real new cars right? He said it has around 15,000miles or less. No damage to the engine and tranny and the likes are included. $1000 , thats a great price isnt it? I am hoping its a powerful engine that will swap in. if so i might have to get it and work on a swap, also go manual in the process hoping i could use that tranny thats on it and it will all work ok. Im calling his brother tomorrow to get details of what car/engine it is. If its from like a integra gsr, type r or prelude sh or whatever, im all good right? I assume its something good since its vtec and didnt only the better ones come with vtec and are around 160-200hp? I hope its not a shitty civic one with sohc. Hopefully a type r. haha doubt im that lucky for $1000. but he is giving me a deal im sure either way what it is.
i always forget about the teg tips. hehe check it and if it is a 99 or 2000 civic si, i’d have 160 hp and i could put on a vortech supercharger and be a fast mofo
If it’s from a 99/00 car it will have a hydraulic tranny which I think takes a bit of work to use in our cars. Also, a supercharger won’t fit in out engine bay.
Yeah, check out the VTEC swap guide. Any Integra '94+ will have a hydraulic tranny which you wouldn’t be able to use. A Prelude engine won’t simply drop in because it’s an H series engine. As well, there is no supercharger that will fit our car.

[B]if i had the si engine seems u could use the vortech one cause it doesnt mount behind the engine?

it’s also a matter of engine bay dynamics and measurements, i would be wary of using something meant to drop directly into another car (with a different battery location, a big detail) as a direct drop into our car (save for b-series engines of course :D)
