Any hatchback owners with small kids? What is the big deal?!

I hear this so often. My friends wonder how the hell I can “manage” with my hatchback Integra with a 2 year old. I have very little issue or discomfort with the car seat and carrying her things in the trunk. They have all wondered when I’m going to get an SUV but I seriously see no need for it currently. In fact, when I have had to use a 4-door car, it is much more uncomfortable because I cannot get into the car as much as I can with a 2-door car’s front seat sliding forward. (Cases in point: Acura TL, Cadillac)

Am I alone here?

I hauled my kid around in mine when he was young. I also had four 12" speakers in the back so I had no trunk at all. I just put his stroller behind my seat and his car seat on the other. I just laugh at everyone when they say they need to buy an SUV or a van to haul around one kid.

Makes no sense, especially just for one kid!

Ha. I have 3 girls that go right into my car no problems. 2 car seats in the back. All day everyday. 12,7,5 year olds. Car is roomier than people think.

I manage it daily for now with a 6yr old and a 3 yr old because my LGT is out of commission at the moment. No lie,a sedan is alot easier, but an suv isn’t needed yet. As they grow it gets kinda tight.
